hey steve last year you told me to hit the small marina down the road from your store for smelts two questions... 1. is it still open fo fishing (ie is it pricate property or what)?.. last time i went the big gate was locked and could not drive in. 2. If still fishable is there any ice on it and any smelts under it?..
thanks Carl 3 -Cambridge-

Actually we tried in close to St Williams last year hoping for pike and we just got more perch! Bigger ones too. There are pike out there all you need is a bigger minnow and a tip up. You'll get them right in the same spots you get perch, after all they are just out there to eat the perch.

I've only ice fished Dunnville once.. and that was last Sunday. It's not a tough place to find the fish.. if they are there, just follow the crowds. Kinda like LPB I guess, only much shorter of a walk. ;D
I have been over to Old Cut a couple of times and found the perch fishing very spotty but if you can find them chances are they'll be bigger.
I'm wondering how the perch fishing is off of Port Rowan.. never seem to see anyone fishing or walking out from there.. in the summertime there is quite a few pike out that way.

sorry for the late response.. i was having problems with my computer from what Ive seen most of all the perch are in the western portion of the bay but.. i think you have a good point possibly the pike um fishing would be good over in that direction but to be honest Ive never tried or talked to anyone who have tried there... but it would be worth checking out probably has been over looked by many fishermen.
